Dr Martyn Speight
MB ChB, Dip. Sports Med, MLCOM, Dip M-S Med, FFSEM
Musculoskeletal Medicine & Sports Doctor
Martyn has had a long and rewarding career in musculoskeletal medicine. He graduated in Medicine from Sheffield University in 1993 and gained experience in orthopaedics, A&E, rheumatology, spinal injuries and general practice before going on to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Medicine (University of Nottingham) in 1997. He went on to train in manual medicine skills at The London College of Osteopathic Medicine and then in 2001, he completed the Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine.
He became a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (Edinburgh) and alongside his main clinical work, his keen interest led to substantial involvement in the education and training of future musculoskeletal and sports doctors. He was formerly a tutor for The British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine (now merged with The British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine) and an examiner for the Diploma of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Martyn sees a wide range of patients with musculoskeletal problems and injuries in both the general population and the sporting fraternity (both amateur and professional athletes).
